BBC Wales enjoyed another year of phenomenal success at the Bafta Cymru awards, the industry awards for television and film in Wales, which were held at Cardiff International Arena on Saturday (23 April 2005).
BBC Wales programmes won 14 of the 32 categories at the ceremony. The main winner of the evening was period network drama Carrie's War - Nina Bawden's timeless classic of wartime evacuees making their home in rural Wales and tale of a young girl's endeavours to adapt to a new life - which was awarded four accolades for the Best Design, Best Costume, Best Make-Up and Best Original Soundtrack.
A Television drama based on the experiences of a young girl, who was evacuated to Wales during the Second World War, leads the way in this year's Bafta Cymru awards.Carrie's War, which was made by BBC Wales and featured Alun Armstrong, Geraldine McEwan, Pauline Quirke and Lesley Sharp, has gained eight nominations.
